JagoBelajar
A free learning companion for every kid, everywhere.
JagoBelajar is a free AI tutor for kids who want to learn but can't afford private tutors, good schools, or apps that require a credit card. Built in Indonesia — for every child, anywhere.
What JagoBelajar Does
Snap to Answer
Photo any textbook page → get a simple, clear explanation instantly.
Kakak Mentor
Ask anything and get an answer like a patient older sibling explains it — not like a textbook. ("Kakak" = big sibling in Indonesian.)
Voice to Ask
Ask questions by voice, no keyboard needed.
Offline-first
Common questions answered from local database — no internet required.
Built for Low-End Phones
Every layer is designed to save data, save battery, and stay fast on old hardware.
Intent Detection
Classifies the question type instantly before touching any API.
Local Knowledge
Answers common questions from on-device database — offline, zero cost.
AI Reasoning
Gemini 1.5 Flash — only called when deep reasoning is actually needed.
Kakak Mentor
Ensures every answer is short, warm, and never robotic.
Hybrid OCR: Photos are processed with ML Kit locally first. Gemini Vision is only called if the text isn't readable — saving roughly 60–70% of vision API costs.

The foundation is solid. Currently in stabilization phase — testing on real low-end devices with real kids.
Why This Exists
One of my children was diagnosed with an intellectual disorder at age 6. The system's response was essentially motivational posters and empty encouragement. Seven years later he's still learning, still growing — just not in the way anyone expected.
That experience taught me that poverty and lack of access are always the reasons given for why kids can't develop. JagoBelajar is my attempt to break through that boundary — one simple explanation at a time.
Where Your Support Goes
I build this alone, every night, after our household's only laptop is done being used by my wife for her day job. This app will always be free — no ads, no paywall, no monetization of any kind. I keep it running through freelance Product Design consulting. If you want to support directly, here's exactly where it goes.
